About the Event

Carla is a formidable artist in her field and an active member of Nga Kaihanga Uku - Maori Clay Artist Collective and Auckland Studio Potters.  She has completed her studies in Maori Art and Design with a focus on ceramics from a Maori and Wahine Toa perspective. With a genuine love for hand building Carla has developed her own version of the coiling technique. She is known for her series of works "Hineukurangi" and “Maori Angels Series”, tall, flowing female forms with trailing windblown hair with a cultural essence. Often her works are created in a music filled space while she dances around pulling form from coils.

Carlas ceramic tour is being organised by the NZ Ceramics Association and Craft Potters have put their hand up to be included. Suggested dates are: Sat 11 Sept or 12 Sept, Sat 2 Oct or Sunday 3 Oct, Sat 23 oct or Sunday 24 Oct. These dates and the time  have not been confirmed yet.

At this stage we are just wanting expressions of interest as the Association would like 12 to 14 participants for each session.  The 3 sessions (15 hours) will cost $250 but  individual sessions may be able to be booked. Please book to indicate your interest. There is no payment required at this stage.
