Beginner Wheel Throwing Classes

Service Description

Eight evening sessions, 6pm - 8.30pm. Jolie Simpson will be teaching this 8 week throwing course and will be introducing you to the basics of working with clay on the wheel. As well as learning to throw on the wheel, you will be supported to problem solve. For the first couple of weeks you will be throwing items that maybe destroyed. Don't be alarmed it is part of the learning process. In the latter part of the course your pots will be bisque fired and you will have the opportunity to learn how to glaze your work. Completing an 8 week class is a great way to start to build muscle memory and move past any technique road blocks you might have picked up but not know how to overcome if you've only been potting for a short time. Note: This class is suitable for beginners and anyone returning to pottery who needs to regain their confidence at the wheel. Course includes: 1 free bag of clay per person Bisque and glaze firing, 1 pot per week Some glazes are available.
