T1/2026 Beginner Wheel Throwing Class

Service Description

Join our tutor Jolie Simpson for eight fun and focused evening sessions designed to build your skills and confidence on the pottery wheel. Perfect for beginners, this course will guide you through the foundations of wheel throwing in a supportive, small-group environment. Across the first few weeks, you’ll practice essential techniques—centering, pulling, and shaping clay—while learning to problem-solve and refine your approach. Don’t worry if your early creations don’t survive—it’s all part of the process! As the course progresses, you’ll move on to creating pieces ready for bisque firing and learn the basics of glazing. Firing of up to 7 pieces is included as part of the course. Completing an 8-week class is a great way to start to build muscle memory and prepare you for future wheel throwing and learning. Please note there is a gap of one week before the final class to allow for items to be fired. See schedule for more info. If you need to cancel after booking, please email your name, bank account number, and the name of the workshop to craftpotterstreasury@gmail.com. A refund (minus a $25 booking fee) will be issued if the cancellation is more than 24 hours before the workshop. No refunds will be given within 24 hours of the start time. Craft Potters reserves the right to cancel the workshop if there is insufficient interest.
